BPS Guidance

Mission: The mission of the Berrien Primary School professional counseling program is to provide a comprehensive developmental counseling program that ensures every student achieves the highest possible education in the area of academics, career and personal/social development through an interactive partnership with students, family, school and community.

Vision: To guide and support students towards success in academic, personal/social and career development in order to prepare students for a productive, self-supporting future.

We believe

All students are capable of learning and being successful.
Each individual deserves respect.
Each individual is equally important.
Value service and contributions to others.

Roles of a counselor:

classroom guidance lessons
small group counseling sessions
facilitated peer support groups
brief individual counseling
consultation with parents/family members and teachers
collaboration with community resources
advocate for students

Referrals may be made by faculty/staff, parents, and/or the students.
