The Kindergarten Team is excited to work with your child and want to make this year very challenging while having fun. LOL =  Loads of Learning!

Here are few things you can do to help your child have a successful kindergarten year and be ready for First Grade!

Talk to your child about their day.  Encourage them to share at least one thing they learned in math, reading, phonics, or the themes.  Ask them to share a kindness they did for a friend, etc.   Try to focus the conversation on positive things that happened.

Please read to your child every day.  Reading aloud is one of the most important things parents can do with children. Reading aloud builds many important foundation skills, introduces vocabulary, provides a model of fluent, expressive reading, and helps children recognize what reading for pleasure is all about.

Don't forget about numbers!  Numbers are all around us.  Help your child understand math awareness and skills.  Collect  all kinds of things your child can count.  Use vocabulary words like - big, little, small, more than, less than, before, and after, etc...

Behavior  Please encourage your child to listen and follow directions, to be kind to others, and to do their best every day. (Behavior Tips for Parents)
